We started this company with the belief that most households are misinformed and misled to purchase much more emergency power than they really need.  Instead of spending $15,000 installing a large standby generator, most people could power the majority of their homes with one of our powerful portable Tri Fuel Generators for as little as $1,499.  Besides having the advantage of running on Natural Gas, Propane (LPG), or Gasoline, they can be installed for half the cost of a typical standby installation, and without all the red tape and permits!

Limited Warranty

Smart Generators, LLC shall warranty any piece of equipment manufactured, or parts of equipment manufactured, to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase by user. This warranty applies to the original purchaser of the equipment and is non transferable. Verification of purchase is the responsibility of the buyer. Parts will be replaced or repaired at no charge, except when the equipment has failed due to lack of proper maintenance. Any misuse, abuse, alteration or improper installation or operations will void warranty. Determining whether a part is to be replaced or repaired is the sole decision of Smart Generator.

NOTE: Some services performed by parties other than Smart Generators, LLC may void warranty.

This warranty covers parts only. It will not provide for replacement of complete products due to defective parts. Components not manufactured by Smart Generators, LLC such as engines are guaranteed by their manufacturer and can be serviced at factory-authorized locations near you. Any costs incurred due to replacement or repair of items outside of a Smart Generators, LLC approved facility is the responsibility of the buyer and not covered under warranty. Smart Generators, LLC can supply you with the service center location in your area.

This warranty specifically excludes the following; failure of parts due to damage caused by accident, fire, flood, windstorm, acts of God, applications not approved by Smart Generators, LLC in writing, corrosion caused by chemicals, use of replacement parts which do not conform to manufacturer’s specifications, and damage caused by vandalism. Additional exclusions: loss of running time, inconvenience, loss of income, or loss of use, including any implied warranty of merchantability of fitness for a specific use.

Warranty does not cover items subject to normal wear such as tires, receptacles or any part subject to direct physical contact by the public. This warranty does not cover any personal injury or damage to surrounding property caused by failure of any part.

This warranty is in lieu of any other warranty expressed or implied and Smart Generators, LLC assumes no other responsibility or liability outside that expressed within this warranty.

What does Smart Generators do with my personal information? Smart Generators uses personal information to enhance the overall shopping experience by providing you with better customer care. Positive customer identification allows us to contact the customer and ensure all their needs are met and handled appropriately and accurately. All personal information that we acquire is provided by each individual customer. It is this personal information, given to us by the customer, which allows us to provide knowledgeable support by our customer care team. Benefits you may receive by allowing us to keep your personal information on hand include:

  1. A Personal Internet Account– You will be identified by NYSmartGenerators.com every time you log in with your personal customer number so in the future you will save time by not having to submit your information again.
  2. Traceable Product Delivery– You will be able to track the location of your shipment through our online tracking system.
  3. Order Status Updates– You will receive order status updates through email notification, including order-confirmation and order-shipped.
  4. Updates on Internet Specials– You will receive updates on Internet specials you have requested, and invitations to join our Sweepstakes and giveaways.
  5. Personalized, Knowledgeable Customer Care– Our customer care team will be able to assist you promptly and accurately by identifying you and your preferences.

Will Smart Generators sell my email address? NO! We will not sell, trade, share or rent your email address to anyone. We believe that your email address is personal and should be kept that way. We use your email address to provide you with better customer care support, and to update you on Smart Generators Internet specials that you have requested.

Restocking Fee

Any shipment that is refused with be responsible for all freight costs both ways and a 10% restocking fee.

Return Policy

No returned merchandise will be accepted without a Return Material Authorization (RMA). Please call our toll free number and speak with a customer solutions representative to obtain a RMA # and shipping instructions.

Unopened Accessories
You may return any “unopened” accessories within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Simply return the item to us, shipping using the most convenient shipping method available to you.

Opened Accessories & All Generators
“Opened” products and generators can be returned within 30 days of delivery*, but will be responsible for all freight costs both ways and a 10% restocking fee. Simply return the item to us using the most convenient shipping method available to you. Opened returns must be in salable condition with original materials and packaging.

* Engine powered equipment cannot be returned once it has been gassed or oiled due to federal shipping regulations.

Factory Direct Items
These items are shipped to you directly from the manufacturer and may be returned with approval from the manufacturer. If approved, you may be responsible for round trip shipping costs, as some products include free shipping, yet the cost of shipping may be included in the retail price. You may also be responsible for a restocking fee of 10%.

Cancelled Orders
An order that has shipped cannot be cancelled. If you refuse an order, which has already been shipped, you will be responsible for both the outbound, return shipping costs, and a 10% restocking fee.

Built-to-Order Items
There are no returns allowed for products, which have been specially built for you and shipped by the manufacturer. These items are not routinely stocked at our warehouse and therefore cannot be returned.

Installed Items
Once an item has been installed it cannot be returned. Any damage due to improper installation is the responsibility of you or your installer. A warranty claim can be made, but it is up to the discretion of the manufacturer if they will cover any costs associated with an incorrect installation.

Damaged Products
You must take the time to inspect the goods before you sign the delivery receipt from the carrier. If you sign the delivery receipt without inspecting the shipment you will be responsible for filing a freight claim and arranging for a repair or return of the damaged goods. Concealed damage claims must be reported immediately.

Suspect Damage
On occasion, the outer carton may look damaged, but the product inside the box is perfectly fine. If you suspect concealed damage, notate “Possible Freight Damage” on the delivery receipt while the driver is present. This way, if you discover later that the product is damaged, the remedy of a freight claim is less of a hassle.

Obvious Damage
Do not sign for damaged products. If your product arrives damaged, please (a) REFUSE DELIVERY and (b) Call Us Immediately so we can process the appropriate claims and coordinate an exchange for you.

Defective Products
We encourage you to test your product within 15 days of receipt so we can quickly remedy any mechanical problems. If you think your product is defective, don’t worry.

In most cases, it’s a simple issue that can be resolved over the phone. You are also welcome to contact the manufacturer’s customer service departments. They have expert technicians standing by to help solve your issue. Please have your model number and serial number available for fastest service.
